BIO:
Belinda's Dad always knew she was going to be in showbiz. The specific genre just wasn't clear. One day she was sleeping in her studio apartment when she received a call. She does not recall who the other person was at that time but she remembers them saying..."you have a voice for radio"...and she was like, “radio”? And that’s how it all began.
She proceeded to contact 93.1 Amor’s Gloria B, which she had met earlier that year, and asked her what were the possibilities of getting an audition for doing traffic. It was almost instantaneous. Belinda still remembers when she came to SBS for the first time. Gloria and Belinda were in a studio on the 5th floor, where they recorded a demo. Tony Sanchez walked into the studio and said “hey, you’re actually better than Carolina.” They had a good chuckle. Belinda began working at SBS in 2001, a little before September 11, as a traffic reporter. That experience led her to a stint as producer/coordinator for 93.1 Amor’s morning show- “Hola New York”. She later moved into promotions, then became a Promotions Supervisor and also worked exclusively in the promotions department for El Vacilon. Belinda has learned a lot at SBS. Her hands on approach to whatever they throw her way has been a key to her success. She has learned that her biggest strength is in coordinating events, and she has worked on some of the best events that SBS has done in NY. Ironically, she is now working alongside Tony Sanchez as an associate producer for El Vacilón De La Mañana. Her actions will say the rest. As theassociate producer for El Vacilon De La Mañana, I'm the one they blame when something goes wrong, and if there's a fat joke I'm the punn. |
